‘Just because you fail to see all that’s possible and what could be’
The Possible Police is a beautifully illustrated children’s picture book about self belief and the importance and power of dreams. Written by Wylde Scott it begins, ‘They came at night, when I fist slept, to steal away my dreams’ and tells the tale of when a young boy – called Wylde Scott it transpires – is faced, at bedtime, with the appearance of the Possible Police – whose job it is to tell children that they can’t achieve the things they want in life, especially if it is anything that the Possible Police themselves have not imagined. Wylde is having none of it and tells them his dreams are his and they are meant to be.
What follows is a lovely little story of the power of dreams and believing there is nothing that you can’t do, and that just because someone else can’t imagine something doesn’t mean you can’t.
A fun book with a good message. ‘Just because you fail to see all that’s possible and what could be’ indeed.
