I see the DTI has a new name. I am worried about saying this out loud as back in 2005 it also had a new name – Department for Productivity, Energy and Industry (DPEI) and site rebranding which lasted for around 4-5 days, before they changed it back to the DTI again. This time it’s the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (DBERR). Will it last the week?
Then, as now the rebrand seems rather pointless. The reason?
DBERR brings together functions from the former Department of Trade and Industry, including responsibilities for enterprise, business relations, regional development, fair markets and energy policy, with the Better Regulation Executive (BRE), previously part of the Cabinet Office.
If you have sites that link to a lot of DTI material, prepare to have a lot of dead links when they move to the http://www.dberr.gov.uk domain.
