I have been sitting following the path of the latest hurricane to sweep through the US over the past few days, and my thoughts are obviously with those that have lost family and home. Just a couple of years ago I was in both New Orleans and Jackson, Mississippi – both of which have been hit by this latest hurricane. I Loved New Orleans, but sadly lying on swamp and below sea level (and being shaped like a bowl) it’s always going to be in deep trouble if a lot of wind and rain get dumped on it in one go, like has happened over the past 24 hours. Some estimates are saying that 80% of the city (including both airports) are currently under water. Scary stuff. Here’s hoping they can get the water pumped out of the city and start to rebuilding process asap.
