Several people had asked over the past year do you still blog / what had happened to the blog / was the blog dead, would anything brings ‘me back’.
Good question. Booker seems to be the answer once more.
Why did I essentially stop?
To be honest, it stopped being fun.
I started and wrote the blog because it was fun, and because I like the sound of my own voice (when I’m reading back what I have written, I always sound GREAT!) But it started to become a chore and I have a life and quite frankly I couldn’t be arsed.
Writing a decent blog post – that is not just a short book (over(R)eview) – is actually quite hard. You need to put in the time, unless it is just a free-wheeling rant. I have started LOTS of potential blog posts over the past 12 months (and yes, several were about Brexit and Trump). I have a notion of something, I write a paragraph and some bullets and then … it gets forgotten about until the point that resurrecting it would be of little value to myself or any potential readers. Actually, who even are ‘my readers’ anymore?
But maybe, just maybe, failing at my usual Booker challenge will make me feel the need to say other things again on these hallowed pages?
I’m going to make an effort.
So, let’s talk web2.0… that is still a thing right? My use of Pageflakes? YOU with me??
